RICS Home Survey – Level 3 (formally known as a structural survey / building survey) is the most detailed type of survey available. If your property is old, large, has a level of disrepair, or has some unusual features, it is usually recommended that you get this type of survey. It’s also recommended if you’re planning on doing any large renovations and remodeling.
A Building Survey really is the best way to work out just what exactly you’re buying and ensure you get bespoke advice that is right for your property. In such a detailed survey, everything that can be inspected will be. This includes attics, cellars, behind furniture, and even under loose carpets.
This commitment to checking everything means that you’ll receive an incredibly detailed report with guidance on visible issues and hidden defects. It also gives you guidance on environmental hazards and vital information for your legal advisor.
